The Creswick State Battery was the first in a program started by the Victorian Mines Department in 1897 to offer stone crushing support for small scale gold miners. There were over 70 built and this is the last one still running. Contributions have been made by several people to produce a collection of notes and interviews detailing people's experiences and history of this battery as well as a brief look at the technical operation.
